Part-time GP Partner

Part-time GP Partner

Reference: HW-1053

Located in the thriving village of Bredon in South Worcestershire, we are a rural practice with 5550 patients, approx 85% of which are dispensing.  Bredon is close to the market town of Tewkesbury, and on the edge of the Cotswolds with excellent road and rail transport links.  We are a patient-focused practice and pride ourselves on our relationship with our patients and the local community.

The Practice has grown steadily in recent years and now has 3 partners, a salaried GP, clinical pharmacist, an experienced nursing team, practice manager, and an excellent support team of receptionist/administrators and dispensers.

To replace our retiring partner we are looking for somebody to work 4-6 sessions per week from October 2019.  All partners share in the clinical and non-clinical workload of the practice but we would be pleased to support anyone wishing to develop a specific interest.  We have aspirations to become a training practice once again and would be pleased to hear from anyone with this as a goal for the future.

We have developed a positive working relationship with other practices in the EBBI locality (Evesham, Broadway, Bredon and Inkberrow) and are already planning how to progress this as we move towards being a Primary Care Network with the introduction of the new GP contract.  One partner is a Director with Stay Well Healthcare (the South Worcestershire GP Federation) and acts as the practice lead for external liaison and commissioning matters.

Last year we moved to 15 minute appointments in acknowledgement of the increasing complexity of modern primary care.  All GPs share in telephone triage in a well-developed appointment system that is designed to ensure no one doctor has to take all acute work coming in on any one day.  Patients are able to see one GP regularly if they wish, but will also be able to speak to a doctor and/or see somebody the same day if this is needed.

We have recently had a new telephone system installed and are now having some internal improvements to increase consulting capacity and develop a better working environment for our admin and dispensary teams.  With new housing developments planned in our practice area, we are keen to start planning for the future and to have capacity to meet any new demands.
