Compassionate Conversations for Non-Clinical Roles
Taking place face to face on Friday 10th of October from 10:00 - 12:00 at Nelson House , Whitecross Road, Hereford, HR4 0GD.
Workshop Delivered by Dr Olwen Wright BSc MB ChB MRCP MRCGP Multi-Professional Educator Herefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub. Olwen has worked as a GP Partner at Spring Gardens in Worcester since 2002 and been a GP Trainer for 21 years. She completed the Triumvirate leadership programme in 2015 to set up her practice ACP service . She is a member of the Collaborative for Compassion in Healthcare Education. She attended the Putting evidence-based Empathy into practice workshop last year at the Stoneygate Centre for Empathic Healthcare.
This workshop will:
- Explore the evidence on how improving communication and compassion skills is important for patients and staff.
- Learn resources to improve consultations.
- Expand your skills to communicate with those bereaved, suicidal, and patients with dementia.
- Prioritise compassionate care including self-compassion.
- Understand burnout and how to protect your mental health.
These sessions are fully funded.
Please note that unfortunately there isn’t any parking on site, however there are several car parks close by. A couple of options are the car park for the Horse and Groom which is a short walk to the venue and Merton Meadow Car Park which is a ten-minute walk.
