This study morning is made up of the below two sessions:
1. Transgender Health: Improving the Patient Experience within Primary Care
2. Menopause Awareness for Non-Clinical Staff in Primary Care

Transgender Health: Improving the Patient Experience within Primary Care
By the end of this session you should:
- Be aware of the health inequalities associated with LGBT+ communities and why it is important for us to address these in Primary Care
- Be able to state why using the correct terminology in transgender health is important
- Feel confident using inclusive language in service provision and knowing when gendered language is appropriate
- Be able to support our transgender patients as they access our Primary Care services
Menopause Awareness for Non-Clinical Staff in Primary Care
In particular, the session aims to cover:
- The importance of good menopause care, whether that be self help, medical care, or support in the workplace
- The definitions of menopause and perimenopause
- The symptoms and signs of the menopause and perimenopause
- Some of the ways that symptoms can be helped
- How it can affect people in the workplace and in their lives generally.
Speakers for the Session: Dr Steph Manton, GP Multi-Professional Educator with the Training Hub and GP with an interest in menopause care and holder of the British Menopause Society’s Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care, will take attendees through the following topics:
