What a GP practice needs to know about DBS

Taking place online on the Learning Management System(LMS) on the 10th of February from 13:00 - 14:00

This 1 hour session will give an overview of the Disclosure and Barring Service functions and how they relate to general practice. We’ll look at:

• DBS checks – who can access them and how to ensure you are complying with the law.
• The Adult and Child Barred lists – what are they, and when you as an employer might have a legal duty to refer people to DBS for consideration for barring.

Speaker for the session: Becky Haines is the DBS Regional Outreach Adviser for the West Midlands.  Becky has a background in the third sector, and prior to joining DBS her roles focussed on working in partnership with healthcare professionals to improve system responses to domestic abuse.
