The 4 ‘P’s – Prolapses, Pelvic floors, Passing urine and Pessaries

An Introduction to Female Pelvic Health for Primary Care Clinicians

Taking place on the 8th of July from 13:00 - 14:00

You are invited to join Dr Steph Manton, GP and GP Multi-Professional Educator, for this interactive session that aims to introduce members of the Primary Care clinical team to commonly presenting symptoms of female pelvic health dysfunction.  This session is designed to help clinical team members recognise symptoms, so that they feel confident offering management or signposting on to other team members who have added skills in this area.

The learning objectives for the session are:

  • Be able to describe the different types of prolapse and their presentation
  • Know what lifestyle advice to offer to manage genital prolapse
  • Understand the role of the pelvic health physiotherapist and demonstrate when to refer
  • Implement investigation of urinary symptoms related to prolapse and problems with the pelvic floor, and explain when referral to secondary care is appropriate
  • Be able to summarize the role pessaries and surgical options have in managing these symptoms in Primary and Secondary Care
