We have organised a total of 12 sessions, taking place either online as a live virtual session on our Learning Management System or Face to Face at Shell Store, Skylon Park, Rotherwas, Hereford, HR2 6ST. 

Please note that you will only need to book on to one occurence.

Live Virtual Sessions:

Please note that all online sessions will be taking place on our Learning Management System, to attend you will need to have an account registered (This is different to the account you have used to book this session).

This is an annual influenza, shingles and pneumococcal update for clinical staff who will be administering  vaccines within the 2024-2025 seasonal programme.

It will cover:

  • Influenza, shingles and pneumococcal disease symptoms and presentation.
  • Understand how Influenza, shingles and pneumococcal spreads and impacts on health.
  • Understand which vaccines are available, and which vaccines are relevant for each cohort and eligibility for 2024/2025 season.
  • At risk groups and who to vaccinate and when.
  • Vaccination resources are available and how to find them.
  • What flu vaccines are available for children, contraindications and supporting resources.
  • Consent and Gillick competence.
  • Cold chain and reporting.

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate competence in vaccine storage and
  • Provide accurate and up to date information about the relevant diseases and vaccines to their patients/parents/carers.
  • Understand the appropriate vaccine to use for each individual.
  • To be confident and competent in the administration of the 2024/2025 seasonal vaccination campaign.
  • Understand the legalities and governance.
  • Be aware of resources and supporting information.
