Consultation Skills

Talks by Dr Olwen Wright BSc MB ChB MRCP MRCGP Multi-Professional Educator Herefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub. She has worked as a GP Partner at Spring Gardens in Worcester for 24 years and been a GP Trainer for 22 years. She completed the Triumvirate leadership programme in 2015 to set up her practice ACP service and supervises staff training for their MSc.  

Session 1- 29/10/26 13:00-14.00 Telephone Consultations. Understand changes in communications skills for telephone Consultations. How to create digital warmth. Know when a telephone consultation is risky. 

Session 2- 5/11/26 13:00-14:00 Safety-Netting. Why it is important and examples of good practice. 

Session 3-12/11/26 13:00-14:00 Managing Uncertainty and Decision making. Understand clinical uncertainty. Present a framework to manage medical uncertainty. Learn errors in diagnosis and how to reduce them. 

Communication is a key clinical skill and boosts patient trust and adherence. 

Suitable for all clinical staff seeing patients in Primary Care. Live and recorded On Training Hub LMS. These sessions are fully funded.
