Venue: Colwall Park Hotel, Colwall, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR13 6QG.

Please note that Tea and Coffee will be provided throughout the day, however these will be the only refreshments that will be provided. Lunch will need to be brought with you and eaten in the room where the training is taking place.

OVERVIEW

Learn dermatology language and terminology, be able to describe what you see in a dermatological sense.

Know how holistic assessments and having the ability to obtain the appropriate investigations to determine causes of skin conditions.

Introduction into general dermatology, looking at common conditions, atopy, infection and infestations.

Understanding the aging process of skin and facilitate prevention of wounds.

Skin cancer detection and understanding importance of differences in types of skin cancers and the importance of prevalence of skin cancers in practice. 

Paediatric dermatology and consideration of additional needs of children and young people.

Gain a broad understanding of the function of steroids and topical steroids, types of medication used for certain dermatological conditions and importance of soaps, shampoos, moisturisers, emollients and medicated bandages.

AIMS AND OUTCOMES

A course designed to give a broader understanding of anatomy and physiology of the skin and giving ability in recognising lesions, lumps and bumps.
