Frailty 3 Day Workshop
This Frailty CPD workshop, which is delivered entirely online, provides a flexible and accessible learning opportunity introducing health and social care professionals to key principles of caring for older adults.
The content will include:

• Positive Ageing
• Healthy Communities
• Ageism
• Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA)
• Acute Presentation in Frailty
• Personalising the approach using a Frailty Sensitive Framework
• Partners in Care - Families and informal carers~
• Terminology and its impact on care
• Legal and Ethical Issues
• Communicating with people living with frailty and their carers
• Integrated Care
• Leadership and Transforming Services
Target Audience
Registered nurses, doctors, pharmacists, paramedics, therapists, mental health professionals, social workers, care home managers and other allied health and social care professionals working with older adults. Suitable for Tier 3 Frailty Core Capability Training. Suitable for those seeking additional education if subspecialising in Older Peoples care e.g., GPs working in Frailty Teams or Care Homes.
Aim
To explore and enhance knowledge and skills of caring holistically for the older person.

All sessions run 13.00 – 14.00 via virtual classroom. The available content is equivalent to 3 study days.
Online CPD This CPD workshop is delivered entirely online. Delegates will be given access to the online environment for three months. The workshop will be launched with a ‘live’ introduction in the virtual classroom and there will be a one hour catch up session once per month. These sessions will be recorded.
The Frailty e-learning resource includes a facilitated online discussion forum, where delegates will be encouraged to network with the CPD team and other delegates. Delegates will also be encouraged to create action learning sets, to enable interactive completion of activities.
The e-learning workshop promotes self-directed learning that is guided by the course content. Contact with the teaching team will be via, weekly monitored discussion boards and the hourly monthly catch up sessions. Interaction in the online environment will be monitored and a certificate will be available upon completion of the e-resource and online evaluation.
