From Back Pain to Diagnosis: Axial Spondyloarthritis Essentials for Primary Care

Taking place on the 11th of November from 13:00 - 14:00

This session explores key updates on axial spondyloarthritis and introduces free, ready-to-use resources to make identifying inflammatory back pain in primary care easier and more effective.

Speakers for the session: Clare Clark and Dr Louise Warburton

Clare worked in the NHS for 23 years prior to working with NASS.  As an Advanced Practitioner in Occupational Therapy she specialised in Rheumatology and Pain management focusing on self-management and ensuring that people living with conditions are active members of their treatment and care.  She has spoken at conferences and run workshops nationally with healthcare professionals on optimising the use of clinic time to ensure the needs of the individual, clinician and service are met.  Her role in NASS as Senior Partnership and Engagement Officer enables her to draw on her experience within the NHS as well as lived experience of having the condition while working with healthcare professionals on the Act on Axial SpA campaign to reduce the delay in diagnosis for Axial SpA.

Dr Warburton is a GPwER in MSK disorders and rheumatology working in Shropshire. She is Co-president of the Primary Care Rheumatology and MSK Medicine Society and works with NASS to improve the knowledge of spondylarthritis in Primary Care.
