Session Overview:

Section 1 - Women's Health (30 minutes) 

This session will cover cervical screening updates, common barriers to attendance, and ways to improve patient engagement and uptake. It will also explore the use of the Cervical Screening Toolkit in practice, and we are hoping to open a discussion with practical tips for supporting patients and improving the screening experience. 

About the Speaker 

Dr. Holly Vaughan is a GP and Advanced Menopause Specialist with a special interest in women’s health, cancer prevention, and reducing health inequalities. She is involved in education and quality improvement work across primary care, with a focus on practical, patient-centred approaches to preventative healthcare. 

Section 2 - Vaccines, Legal Frameworks and Consent (30 minutes) 

Are you confident you are working within the correct legal framework when administering vaccines? This interactive session will explore the key legal routes used in vaccination practice, including PSDs, PGDs, Written Instructions and VDGs, alongside the principles of valid consent and documentation. Through practical examples and case discussions, participants will gain a clearer understanding of their professional responsibilities in everyday practice. 

About the Speaker 

Esther Taylor is the Lead Practice Nurse for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub. With over 30 years' nursing experience across acute, community and primary care settings, she has a background in general practice and a particular interest in long-term conditions management, immunisation, education and workforce development.
