Sessions will include
Pharmacy First and Beyond: Community Pharmacy Services for Practice Nurses
Liz Brooke, Clinical Pharmacy Ambassador at the Training Hub, will explore the range of services available through community pharmacy, including Pharmacy First, blood pressure checks and other referral pathways. The session will help Practice Nurses understand what services available, which patients are may benefit, and when community pharmacy could provide an appropriate alternative or additional route of care.
Liz will also cover the practical management of stock medicines following a temperature excursion — what to consider when emergency and stock drugs have been stored outside their recommended temperature range and the appropriate steps to take.
Safeguarding in General Practice – Ask the Expert
Heather Manning, Head of Safeguarding & Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Adults, Children and Children Looked After, will provide an interactive Q&A focused on the safeguarding challenges that arise in everyday general practice.
Bring your general questions and explore practical topics such as recognising concerns, escalation, referrals, documentation and information sharing.
Please note: this is a learning and discussion session and is not intended for identifiable live cases or as a route for safeguarding referrals.
TeamNet for Practice Nurse Leads: Supporting Governance and Workforce Management.
Discover practical ways to get more from TeamNet and make everyday practice processes easier to manage.
The session will explore useful features including recording and monitoring fridge temperatures, using QR codes, managing training records, supporting appraisals, and accessing clinical support information — with practical tips you can take back and use within your practice.
Preparing for CQC – Are You Inspection Ready?
Esher Taylor, Lead Practice Nurse at the Training Hub will explore the Lead Nurse’s role in CQC readiness and the evidence inspectors may expect to see.
We’ll look at key areas including training and competencies, infection prevention and control, vaccine and medicines governance, audits, safeguarding and incident learning, with practical prompts to help you identify any gaps and feel more prepared for inspection.
