Live Session Summary 

Learning Disability Annual Health Checks Training

 Training for primary care staff on Annual Health Checks will be launched in December.

 Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes

• Increase knowledge about learning disability and health inequalities
• Hear from the experiences of people with a learning disability and their family carers
• Explain the requirements of an Annual Health Check
• Explain what a reasonable adjustment is and how to make them
• Explain the requirements of the Health Care Action Plan
• Raise awareness about Mental Capacity and Safeguarding issues
• Hear what support the Community Learning Disability Teams can offer
• Showcase the resources to support you 

The training content covers the areas required under Direction 6(7)(k) of the PMS DES Directions 2020, and therefore is particularly appropriate for the lead GP, lead practice nurse, practice manager and senior receptionist roles in the practice, as well as contributing to the evidence required to meet the QOF QI domain for LD by upskilling practice teams in areas identified in the guidance.
