To learn about the NICE 2015 and ADA/EASD 2018 guidelines on the management of type 2 diabetes

Understand the stepwise approach to diabetes management and the dangers of clinical inertia

Briefly review how commonly used oral glucose lowering therapies target the pathophysiology of Type 2 Diabetes

To be able to describe the mechanism of action of GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT-2 inhibitors

To understand the role of the newer oral agents within the algorithms with emphasis on newer cardiovascular outcome data

To review the Worcestershire prescribing guidelines link with the national guidance and practical tips
