Elgar House Surgery is based in Redditch Town Centre,  We are a friendly busy surgery with a patient list of approximately 15,000 patients. You will be joining a friendly, approachable and committed team who enjoy the work they do.

 

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data and Systems Co-ordinator to join a friendly, supportive and close knit team to provide high quality care to the local Redditch community.

 

This role will be a mix between I.T./Data and administration.  The role will also support the fuller practice team in times of busy periods.

 

The practice is located in Redditch Town Centre.  Redditch is located 15 miles south of Birmingham with good transport links and an increasing and diverse population.

HOURS

37 hours a week (full time but would consider part time or job share).

The candidate will have set hours but will need to be able to work flexibly to support the needs of the practice.

 

PAY

Dependent on experience

 

THE CANDIDATE

You will have good communications skills, strong written and spoken English both face to face and over the telephone. You will also need an advanced knowledge and experience in IT skills. You must like dealing with people and you will be backed up by a supportive team and given full training to develop your skills, engagement and job satisfaction. You will be confident dealing with the public and also calm under pressure.

 

Key experience essential for role:

  • Educated to GCSE level grade C or equivalent in literacy and numeracy
  • Advanced IT Skills with good understanding and working knowledge of software programmes such as Microsoft word and Excel
  • IT literate and ability to understand and grasp new software and administrative / operational procedures.
  • At least two years experience in performing administrative duties
  • Accuracy of inputting data, with attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, priorities workload and meet deadlines
  • Have a personable and friendly manner and the ability to empathise with patients and visitors
  • Be smart, confident and organised individual, with strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritise tasks.
  • You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working effectively within a large team environment and the ability to work on own initiative and flexibly within the team

 

Desirable but not essential

·         Previous experience working in general practice

·         Experience of EMIS Web
