Medical Secretary 30 hrs p/w over 4 days

Job Role:
Type and process referrals and general correspondence using a digital dictation system.
Plan/organise a number of conflicting tasks and priorities whilst still meeting deadlines.
Liaise with Hospital staff, GPs, Community Teams and internal staff via email and telephone.
Collate information as and when required.
Keep accurate referral records for audit purposes.
Run monthly recalls.
Process private referrals and upload to an online portal.
Maintain patient records.
Use (e-RS) electronic Referral Service, EMIS, Docman and Microsoft applications.
Deal with a high volume of work.
Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to post.
Criteria:
Essential:
Experience of working as a Medical Secretary.
GCSE English C or above (or equivalent).
Excellent word processing and IT Skill, including knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
Good organisation and time management skills.
The ability to work on own initiative honestly and reliably.
Flexibility and adaptability.
Discretion and an understanding of confidential issues.
Desirable:
RSA II typing and word processing.
AMSPAR
Knowledge of General Practice NHS systems - EMIS
